Kenya Airways flies the Nairobi–Kisumu route daily, operating from Terminal 1A at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) — the airline’s main hub. It’s a short hop of around 50 minutes over the Rift Valley, offered in both Economy and Business cabins, and timed to suit business travellers heading west in the morning and back to the capital in the evening.

Most Kenya Airways fares include a checked baggage allowance plus hand luggage, but the exact limit depends on your fare type, cabin and Asante tier — Business and higher tiers get more. Always confirm your allowance when booking.

How to check in
Check in online or on the Kenya Airways app ahead of your flight, use a self-service kiosk at the airport, or check in at the counter. With only hand luggage, online check-in gets you straight to security; with bags, use the baggage drop.

Asante Rewards
Asante Rewards is Kenya Airways’ own loyalty programme, launched in 2023 to replace its earlier Flying Blue partnership. You earn points flying KQ and SkyTeam partners, and redeem them for tickets, upgrades and extra baggage.
